Navy Pier

Bidding a not-so-fond farewell to the Day's Inn, we drove to Chicago. (I say 'we' - I should actually confess that Mr Ruby does all the driving here. In my head, I'm still hugging the left-hand side. It's best not to actually do that if you're at the wheel.)

We spent the day at the Children's Museum at Navy Pier, Chicago. Now, if you're visiting Chicago and you have children with you, I wholeheartedly recommend the Children's Museum. We had such a great day here! The Mouse and TR loved it because it is full of things you can touch, climb on, dig in, splash in, build, create... and it's just great fun! TR loved the Curious George exhibit, the Big Back Yard (all about bugs) and digging for dinosaur bones. The Mouse loved all those too, but I think her best thing was Kid's Town, where she loved playing at being Cinderella in the role-play kitchen. Mr Ruby's favourite exhibit was Waterways, where you can build locks, dams and fountains. The museum was so quiet that we pretty much had the place to ourselves, which allowed greater scope for creating a water-based empire. Here is a montage of pictures of us at the Children's Museum:

How cool (no pun intended) your trip into wisconsin sounded. Glad to hear that Mouse and TR enjoyed their visit.

Looking forward to hearing more and seeing you all very soon.

I was getting withdrawal symptons, looking every day for more news and then loads.

safe journey home.

Why has TR turned into a butterfly? Before doing so did he eat one apple, two pears, three plums, four strawberries, five oranges, a slice of chocolate cake, an ice cream cone, a pickle, some Swiss cheese, some salami, a lollipop, a piece of cherry pie, a sausage, a cup cake, a slice of watermelon and a nice green leaf?
